Great question! Yes, I have, but I found the results are mediocre. I think that the pictures work for me because I'm channeling my own curiosity, libido, and attractions into the work. And (perhaps like comedy) the photos are better for my anxiety. I just don't feel the same way about men, as a hetero guy, and consequently I believe the photos can feel it. I don't think the element of "desire" can be removed, and if there's not a real feeling like that, the viewer will know it. I've tried, and I'll try again-- in part because I enjoy the challenge (and I've also shot couples which is much more successful and interesting) but it's definitely different. Subjects aren't interchangable. I'm friends with most of them and the nature of our real connections impact the abstractions.
