I understand that logic, but to me it's like saying it's not the rule of thirds but the rule of Pi -- because Pi is "about" 3. Sure, true. But it's really inane to pretend they're related. The rule of thirds, for almost all of history, was really just asking people to push subjects out of center and see how it is. It was never meant to be precise. And it never had a connection to the Golden Mean. So the fact that those numbers are "sorta" similar is really moot.
